Journey of Hope Memphis is a confidential support ministry for Christ Followers with unwanted same sex attractions, and those who have come out of homosexuality as well as family of LGBT and those with a heart to minister to the LGBT community. Our primary purpose is to encourage every participant to develop a vibrant relationship with Jesus and grow in their faith as they learn how to live the Christ-centered lifestyle. There are thousands of individuals who have chosen to leave homosexuality to pursue a biblically true relationship with God. The pathway out is not a new one. Even the first century church records those who left homosexuality behind among it’s ranks. We find them in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11. Those of us who have been ministered to by His Spirit to walk in His freedom are called to share that same hope with others who seek to be free. Our examples of freedom in Christ are living epistles to those who have been fed the lie that change wasn’t possible. At JOH, we provide a safe environment to share, learn, and grow into men and women who seek after the freedom and joy that only God can provide. We are a biblically based ministry finding our identity and hope in Christ Jesus In addition to those who struggle with same sex attraction we provide support for parents, spouses, families and friends of those affected by these issues. We encourage our members to be actively involved in their local church. As an inter-denominational support ministry, our purpose is to support churches and Christian ministries in Brevard, Volusia, Indian River and Saint Lucie Counties by helping them provide hope to those who may feel they have no hope and comfort to those who feel that no one understands. 2 Corinthians 1:3-5 (New International Version): Praise to the God of All Comfort 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. 5 For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ. As we have experienced God's work in our lives and seen His sanctifying work draw us further into Him, we can share those experiences and lessons the Lord has taught us so that others who are dealing with the same struggles can be encouraged and built up in the faith. James 5:16: Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. We also hope to provide a safe place for accountability and healing. We know that we can neither change nor heal anyone and that it is the Blood of Jesus and the Holy Spirit's work that results in changed lives from the inside out.
